Hydrology and Climate Change (HydroClimate) Research Group

This research group is focusing weather and climate modeling at global and regional scales for Bangladesh. This group also use geo-spatial data for deriving hydrological, coastal and agricultural impact models. Primary focus of this group is to develop climate change scenarios for Bangladesh and study the associated impacts on agriculture and hydrology cycles. 

DIMOS

An open source based coupled modeling framework for improving assessment of climate change impact for Bangladesh

  • RegCM , PRECIS, CWRF: Regional Climate Models for generating high resolution climate change information
  • WRF: Mesoscale numerical weather prediction model
  • SWAT, HEC-HMS , WRF-Hydro: Hydrological and flow routing models for the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna (GBM basins)
  • HEC-RAS: 1D and 2D River modeling systems for the river networks of Bangladesh
  • FVCOM, DELFT3D, SCHISM : Coastal and estuarine circulations model for the Bay of Bengal
  • MODFLOW: Finite difference groundwater modeling
  • SWMM: Rainfall-runoff simulation model for urban flooding
